Current situation analysis of SCR denitrification technology for cement kiln flue gas

In today’s environmental protection context, how to effectively reduce industrial emissions has become the focus of global attention. Among them, cement kiln as an important industrial facility, its production of a large number of nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions is particularly prominent. In order to solve this problem, people began to use selective catalytic reduction (SCR) denitration technology. In this paper, the present situation of SCR denitrification technology of cement kiln flue gas will be deeply analyzed.

SCR denitrification is a technology that converts nitrogen oxides (NOx) into harmless nitrogen gas and water by using a catalyst. In cement kilns, the combustion process will produce a large amount of NOx, which will cause serious pollution to the environment if it is not directly discharged into the atmosphere after treatment. SCR denitrification technology can effectively convert these NOx into harmless substances, thereby reducing the impact on the environment.

Although SCR denitration technology has a high denitration efficiency, its application in cement kilns is still in the initial stage. At present, most cement production lines have not fully realized the application of SCR denitration technology, and only a few advanced production lines have adopted this technology. This is mainly because the investment cost of SCR denitrification technology is high, and the catalyst needs to be replaced regularly, and the maintenance cost is relatively high. In addition, some small cement production lines, due to their small scale, do not have enough economic benefits to support the implementation of SCR denitration technology.

Although there are still some problems in the application of SCR denitration technology, with the increasingly strict environmental regulations and people’s awareness of environmental protection, it is expected that more cement production lines will adopt SCR denitration technology in the future. At the same time, researchers are actively developing new catalysts and improving SCR denitration technology to reduce its operating costs and maintenance difficulties. However, this will also bring new challenges, such as how to reduce costs while ensuring denitration efficiency, and how to improve the service life of the catalyst.

In general, the development status of cement kiln flue gas SCR denitrification technology shows its huge potential and broad application prospects. Although there are still some challenges, but with the progress of science and technology and the promotion of policies, we have reason to believe that SCR denitrification technology will play a greater role in the future environmental protection field.
