NOx reduction and purification: Research and application of denitrification technology in biomass direct combustion furnace

   With the development of economy, people’s environmental awareness continues to improve, the development and utilization of biomass energy more and more attention by the enterprises, biomass direct combustion furnace as an efficient and clean energy equipment, the combustion process of nitrogen oxides (NOx) will still cause serious pollution to the environment. Therefore, denitration of biomass direct combustion furnace is very necessary.

   The denitrification technology of biomass natural furnace is mainly to reduce the generation and emission of nitrogen oxides in the combustion process through selective reduction (SCR) technology, so as to reduce the pollution of nitrogen oxides to the environment. Under certain catalytic action, nitrogen oxides are reduced to nitrogen and water by using reducing agents such as ammonia or urea. The advantage of SCR technology is that the denitrification efficiency is high, which can reach more than 90%. But investment and operating costs are high.

   The denitrification technology of biomass direct combustion furnace is a technology that researchers optimize through the characteristics of biomass fuel, the control of combustion process and the selection of denitrification agent, so as to improve the efficiency and economy of denitrification technology of biomass direct combustion furnace. The temperature, gas flow rate and oxygen concentration in the combustion process have important effects on the production and emission of nitrogen oxides. By optimizing the parameters of the combustion process, reducing the combustion temperature, increasing the gas flow rate, oxygen concentration, and effectively reducing the generation and emission of nitrogen oxides.

   It is found that in order to achieve the ideal denitrification effect, the selection of appropriate denitrification agent is the key, ammonia and urea are ideal denitrification agents, and the problems of ammonia leakage and corrosion need to be solved in the use process. Through the control of the combustion process and the optimization of denitrification agent selection, it is helpful to improve the efficiency of denitrification technology of biomass spontaneous combustion furnace.

   The SCR denitrification system independently developed by our company can run stably up to the standard under any load. At the same time, real-time online monitoring is carried out according to the NOx concentration and O2 content before and after exhaust gas, and real-time control is carried out through ECU control. The nitrogen oxide concentration can be stabilized below 30mg/m³, and the treatment efficiency can reach more than 95%.
