Comprehensive Exhaust Treatment Project for Diesel Generators at Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Data Center (DOC+DPF+SCR system)

Short Description:

As the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area features a high density of computing infrastructure, IDC data centers are generally equipped with high-power diesel generator sets as emergency standby power supplies. The standby units remain in standby mode for a long time and only start for a short duration during power outages and monthly routine load tests. Their operating conditions are characterized by frequent start-stop cycles, intermittent operation and large temperature fluctuations. Meanwhile, Guangdong enforces stringent control standards for NOₓ and particulate matter (PM). Conventional exhaust treatment solutions are prone to problems such as failure of denitrification at low temperatures, DPF carbon deposition and clogging, urea crystallization and excessive ammonia slip.

Targeting the scenarios of data centers in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Green Valley adopts an integrated exhaust after-treatment technical route of DOC+DPF+SCR (ASC optional) to realize comprehensive exhaust gas treatment for diesel generator sets. It achieves coordinated compliant emission of black smoke, particulate matter, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides.

Technical introduction

Landfill gas power generation generates electricity by utilizing substantial volumes of biogas (LFG‑landfill gas) produced from the anaerobic fermentation of organic waste in landfills. This approach not only mitigates air pollution originating from waste incineration, but also enables efficient resource recovery.

Since nitrogen‑oxide emissions generated during landfill‑gas power generation must comply with regulatory standards set by environmental authorities, exhaust gas must be treated prior to atmospheric discharge.
